Eawas an indicator of the required energy to remove moisture from the inside to outside of the drying product[6],and the Eaof Codonopsis pilosula roots was 15.86 kJ·mol-1calculated by plotting ln Deffversus the reciprocal of the temperature(T+273.15)in our study as shown in figure 4,which means that removing 1 kg water from Codonopsis pilosula roots requires the minimum energy of 881.11 kJ,and it is in the range of 12.7 to110.0 kJ mol-1for most agriculture materials[24].However,the Eaof Codonopsis pilosula roots we obtained is much smaller than that of pumpkin slices[25]and nettle leaves[26],this phenomenon might be attributed to the fact that the material shape,tissue structures and the components of the product have a definitive effect on its Ea.
