《Resin Matrix Brake Materials Reinforced by Nano-Al_2O_3 for Mining Equipment》
The raw materials used in our experiment were commercial grade product.The nitrile butadiene rubber modified phenolic resin with average size of 200 mesh was used as binder.The graphite powder is 150 mesh in size and the sizes of Ca(OH)2,MoS2 and BaSO4 are about 200 mesh.The length of carbon fiber was about40-150μm,and diameter is 8μm.The average size of nano-Al2O3 and micro-Al2O3 particle is about 60 nm and 80μm,respectively.Designed formulations of friction materials were given in Table 1.The volume fraction of phenolic binder was kept constant.Different specimens were denoted as NA1,NA2,NA3 and MA4.Alumina content of specimen NA2 is the same as that of specimen MA4.Mixed powders were mechanically mixed by using a planetary ball mill.The mixtures were sintered in a hot-press-sintering furnace at 160℃.A compaction pressure of 2.5×107 Pa was held for25 min.Finally,specimens were cooled down to room temperature.And then sintered specimens were posttreated at 120℃for 60 min.
