《Lignin and holocellulose from coir pith involved in trimethylamine(fishy odor) adsorption》
Coir pith was obtained from mattress factories in the Thap Sakae District,Prachuap Khiri Khan Province,Thailand.Coir pith was dried in a hot air oven at 60°C,for 24 hr and sieved to particle size of>355μm.CAC based on coconut shell was purchased from C.Gigantic Carbon Co.,Ltd.(Bangkok,Thailand).CAC was dried in a hot air oven at 60°C for 24 hr.The specific surface areas of the coir pith and CAC were determined by the Brunauer,Emmett and Teller(BET)method using a surface area analyzer(Autosorb-1,Quantachrom Instruments,USA).The surface areas and porosity characterization of coir pith and CAC are shown in Table 1.
