Numerous transcription factors were identified to be drought inducible in Xushu 55-2.In four main transcriptionfactor families NAC,MYB,bHLH,and WRKY,whose members are frequently reported to be associated withdrought tolerance of plants,18,20,32,and 24 members,respectively,were found to be significantly up-regulatedunder PEG6000 stress compared with the control(Table 3).Several members of histone-like,ethylene-responsive(ERF),MADS-box,GATA,and bZIP transcription factor families were also up-regulated(Table 3).
