《"Identification and characterization of cell cultures with various embryogenic/regenerative potential in cotton based on morphological, cytochemical, and cytogenetical assessment"》
1) All the cell lines were maintained for more than 1 year.Callus induction ability, degree of callus growth, and regeneration ability were classified into three grades:low, middle, and high.2) 2,4-D,2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid;IBA,indolebutyric aci
We compared the morphology, ploidy level, and embryogenic/regenerative ability among the six cell lines maintained in regular medium containing indolebutyric acid(IBA)(Table 1) .The six lines showed apparent differences in color, size of cell clumps, growth rate, and embryogenic/regenerative ability. The highly embryogenic and regenerative cell lines showed moderate growth and yellow-clumpy(GH-EC4)or white-clumpy morphology(GH-EC5),whereas cell lines with fine morphology and different colors(GH-EC1,GH-EC2,GH-EC3,GH-EC6)showed very low or no embryogenic/regenerative ability(Table 1).Thus,the size of cell clumps and the colors were relevant to embryogenic/regenerative ability in cotton cell culture.
