The developed LC–MS/MS method was applied to investigate the brain pharmacokinetics of the five active constituents in normal and insomnic rats after an oral administration of JTP extracts.The five protoberberine-type alkaloids could be detected up to 10 h after oral administration.The mean brain concentration–time profiles of five ingredients in normal and insomnic rats were illustrated in the Fig.3 and the estimated pharmacokinetic parameters were listed in Table 6.
