The COF and wear rate were obtained from the tribological tests.Fig.7(a)shows the COF of each of the two tested Fe-based alloy coatings and the substrate,and the steady-state friction coefficient(?)is listed in Table 2.It can be observed that the steady-state friction coefficient of the two coatings is 0.71(No.1)and 0.61(No.2),which are lower than that of the substrate(0.79).This reduction in the steady-state friction coefficient reflects the enhancement in the adhesive wear resistance,whereas the COF denotes the adhesive extent of the frictional surface under dry sliding friction conditions.It is also noteworthy that the initial COF of the two tested coatings increases and this is attributed to the large adhesive microcontact between the rubbing surfaces.
