Major classes of phenolic compounds isolated from the root bark of M.alba are flavonoids and benzofurans(Table 1).They represent 48%and 38%of the phenolic constituents,respectively(Fig.2).Other compounds are those of stilbenoids(7%),triterpenes(5%),phenolic acids(1%)and coumarins(1%).
