As shown in Table 2,the(200)peaks are the most intense,indicating preferred growth parallel to the(200)plane for the pure Ni.When the SACNT content in the composites was increased,the(200)orientation intensities slightly decreased from 91%at the maximum in pure Ni to 52%in the composite containing 4vol%SACNTs.The intensities of the(111)and(220)planes show substantial enhancement.The(111)facet is known to have a higher atomic density and lower surface energy in the fcc lattice compared with other facets.However,Ni atoms apparently migrated from the higher-energy(200)plane to the lower energy(111)or(220)planes when the CNTs were present.The growth direction of the SACNT/Ni composites changes from the single(200)plane to a combination of the(111),(220) ,and(200)planes.
