The calculated data shown in Table 2 demonstrate that the BSA encapsulation efficiency and the production ratio of microspheres made by two organic solvents are different.It was reported that organic solvents could play an important role in the protein entrapment efficiency and protein bioactivity of PLA microspheres[37].In this work,it was also observed that microspheres prepared with chloroform had higher BSA encapsulation efficiency and production ratio than those prepared with ethyl acetate,while no matter whether NH4HCO3 was added or not.Comparing microspheres prepared with the same solvent,the addition of NH4HCO3 did not obviously affect the BSA encapsulation efficiency(Table 2).In this study,the removal rate of ethyl acetate was so fast that some PLA easily precipitated from their emulsion and even wrapped on the stir bar,which led to the lower encapsulation efficiency and production ratio of microspheres.
