The difference between the calculations by using the two methods is one order of magnitude.The estimations by using the anode mass consumption are the upper bounds,and the calculations by using the mass of formed MoO3are closer to the real energy costs,despite the fact that the obtained results are higher than the values presented in[24]for nanosecond repetitive pulsed discharge(75–600 eV atom-1 (minimum possible energy cost of synthesis)) .According to the data collected in[22],the values of the energy cost range from1–600 keV atom-1by using atmospheric pressure plasma sources.From table 2,one can see that there is a way of reducing energy costs.Thus,atmospheric pressure glow discharge with a water cathode is a promising energy-efficient method for the synthesis of monophase MoO3.
