According to data in Table 1,the matrix of relation between various traits was obtained(Table 3).It could be seen from Table3 that complicated relation existed between various traits.Head rice rate was in very significant negative correlation with chalkiness degree(-0.42**),while there was very significant positive correlation between chalky kernel percentage and chalkiness degree(0.56**).Chalkiness degree was in significant negative correlation with gel consistency at the 5%level(-0.36*),while amylose content was in significant positive correlation with gel consistency(0.36*).It could thus been seen that coordinating the relation between head rice rate with quality traits including chalkiness degree is of great significance to the improvement of Ningxia rice for quality traits.
