The data of the automatic soil moisture observation station in Huangcun Village,Tongji Town,Pengzhou City during 2012-2015 and the meteorological data from1971 to 2014 were collected and analyzed, and the precipitation, precipitation proportion and soil moisture at each growth stage of spring potato were obtained(Table 7).As shown in Table 4 and Table 7,the precipitation during the whole growth period of spring potato is 667.0 mm,that is,the precipitation is abundant. From the beginning of sowing, the amount of ten-day precipitation increases gradually and reaches the maximum by the flowering and maturity period. The distribution of the precipitation at all the stages is consistent with the water demand of spring potato, which is conducive to the vegetative growth and reproductive growth of spring potato. From the sowing to young seedling stages, the relative soil moisture is within the appropriate range, which can ensure potato seedlings emerge smoothly and grow robustly. The relative soil moisture in the early period of the tillering stage is close to the appropriate value and that in the late period is suitable.During the tuberization stage, the relative soil moisture is lower, which is not suitable. However, the precipitation during this period is most, which can basically meet the water demand of tuberization of spring potato. The distribution of the relative soil moisture is suitable, and the soil moisture is better in overall. In short, the precipitation and relative soil moisture distribution are more suitable, and they can meet the water demand of spring potato growth and development.
