《Mechanical Properties and Degradability of Electrospun PCL/PLGA Blended Scaffolds as Vascular Grafts》
The fi ber morphology was characterized by SEM,and the results showed that the blended fi bers had smooth surfaces(Fig.1)and average diameters of around 700 nm(Table 1).There was no signifi cant diff erence among the morphologies of diff erent grafts.This result was diff erent from that reported by Nguyen and Lee[19],where the morphologies of the sample fi bers showed some diff erences.This is probably due to the usage of a diff erent PLGA.In our study,we used PLGA(80:20)(M w=200,000) ,while theirs was PLGA(85:15)(M w=80,000) .The morphology of the ultra-fi ne fi bers is aff ected by many factors,including the properties of polymer solutions,solution fl ow rate,applied voltage,and distance between capillary and collector[23].The polymer may be not sticky enough to spin into an acceptable fi brous system when its molecular weight is low.
