《Mechanical Properties and Degradability of Electrospun PCL/PLGA Blended Scaffolds as Vascular Grafts》
The suture strength and burst pressure of a vascular scaffold are key factors that determine whether the scaff old is suitable for vascular graft implantation[27].According tothe results shown in Table 2,the suture strength and burst pressure of the PCL/PLGA blended scaff olds decreased with the increasing percentage of PLGA.The scaff olds of PCL/PLGA(95/5),PCL/PLGA(90/10),and PCL/PLGA(80/20)could withstand long enough before fracture, thereby meeting the demand of suture. The scaff olds of PCL/PLGA(95/5)and PCL/PLGA(90/10)could resist a burst pressure of over1500 mmHg,which was close to the value of the saphenous vein burst pressure(1680~2273 mmHg)[27]and muchhigher than that of the natural human systolic(130 mmHg)and diastolic(80 mmHg),illustrating the potential of these scaff olds as vascular grafts.
