《"Efficient one-pot hydrogenolysis of biomass-derived xylitol into ethylene glycol and 1,2-propylene glycol over Cu–Ni–ZrO_2 catalyst without solid bases"》
aReaction conditions:600 rpm,0.50 g xylitol,0.2 g catalyst,25 mL H2O,3 h.
The influence of reaction temperature and hydrogen pressure was further investigated and the product distributions were pre-sented in Table 1.Experimental results showed that the reaction temperature had obvious influence on xylitol hydrogenolysis. The conversion of xylitol was below 80%when the reaction temperature was no more than 518 K.Benefit from the low reaction rate in low temperature, selectivity of glycols stayed above 63%meanwhile yield of glycols was below 50%.Therefore,low temperature was beneficial to improve utilization efficiency of carbon. To get more glycols, reaction temperature would be 518 K.Hydrogen pressure had no obvious influence on xylitol hydrogenolysis, the selectivity of glycols maintained at about 60%.
