The initial fatty acid oxygenate reaction rate of the second HDO experiment starting with 10%oleic acid was approximately52.4 mmol g-1h-1,nearly 27%lower than the calculated rate of the corresponding first HDO experiment(78.7 mmol g-1h-1)and a complete conversion was achieved after 5 h.Likewise,the average rate of oxygenate conversion of all other second experiments was decreased and complete conversions was delayed.The observed drop in the activity of second run catalysts compared to the first run catalysts may be related to their carbon deposition contents(reported in Table 2)that has partially blocked their active phases.After running two sets of HDO experiments(first and second run),it is very evident that abietic acid inhibited the conversion of oleic acid.
