Aerosol samples were collected on copper(Cu)TEM grids covered with carbon film(carbon type-B,300-mesh copper,Tianld Co.,China)using single-stage cascade impactor with a0.5 mm diameter jet nozzle at air flow rate of 1.0 L/min at April 8,2013.Sampling duration varied from 6 to 9 min, depending on the visibility and PM concentration.Samples were collected during morning(08:00–10:00),afternoon(12:00–14:00),and evening(17:00–19:00)for observing the diurnal variation of aerosols.A new particles formation event was observed by Shen et al.(2016)at same site during our sampling period.Based on that research,we considered that the samples collected at the different time would represent different particle formation process:the morning samples stood for the particles at formation stage, the afternoon samples represented the grown particles, and the evening samples were regarded as aged particles.Detailed sampling information can be found in Table 1.After collection of samples,we placed Cu grids in sealed, dry plastic tube until the TEM analysis.
