For further validation,we investigated the wave force acting on a single vertical cylinder.It is well-known that the computational mesh greatly affects the numerical accuracy and efficiency,so we conducted the convergence studies with respect to the mesh and time step in several numerical tests.The specific parameters we used are as follows:a water depth d that is twice the radius of the cylinder,and a,which equals1 m in the convergent cases.The dimensionless wave number kd equals 2.0.We labeled the four meshes in the meshconvergence tests as Mesh A,Mesh B,Mesh C,and Mesh D.Table 1 presents the specific characteristic of these meshes.
