《Effects of Low Temperature and Poor Light Environments under LED Lighting on Quality Change of Pepper Seedlings during Storage》
In the storage period of seedlings,when light intensity is at the light compensation point,a dynamic balance between chlorophyll synthesis and catabolism will be achieved.The quality of vegetable seedlings will decline if chlorophyll content decreases in the storage period[10].As shown in Table 3,when the light source was a fluorescent lamp,and storage temperature and light intensity were 6℃and 15μmol/(m2·s),respectively,total chlorophyll content in the leaves of pepper seedlings was kept well with the extension of storage time.However,as light intensity was 30μmol/(m2·s),the total chlorophyll content had increased significantly by 24%.It showed that the synthesis of chlorophyll was conducted continuously in the storage process,and the synthesis rate was greater than the decomposition rate,so the total chlorophyll content tended to increase[11].As storage temperature was 11℃,the total chlorophyll content had increased by 31%and 8%,respectively with the enhancement of light intensity;chlorophyll a/b also rose with the increase of storage time.
