The shown speed-up behavior is not perfect for higher core numbers.In that case the cells involved in the periodic boundary condition generate a higher workload on a few subdomains,which produces a load imbalance increasing with the number of CPU cores.A domain decompositioning taking into account the additional work for these cells or a dynamic load balancing based on the actual computing time per subdomain would improve the parallel efficiency.Such a load balancing procedure is presently being implemented in ZFS.
