《"Effect of dietary supplementation with mulberry(Morus alba L.) leaves on the growth performance,meat quality and antioxidative capacity of finishing pigs"》
The experiment followed the actual law of animal protection and was approved by the Animal Care and Use Committee of Sichuan Agricultural University,China.A total of 40 crossbred(Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire)barrows( (40.50±0.63)kg body weight) were allotted into two treatments in five replicates(pens)with four pigs per pen in a completely randomized design.The two dietary treatments were basal diet or experimental diet with 15%MLP supplementation at the expense of wheat bran.The level of 15%was based on literature(Li 2012;Yang et al.2014)and objective of maximizing the effects of mulberry leaves.The diets were formulated to meet the nutrient requirements for 50–75 and 75–100 kg pigs(NRC 2012).The composition and nutrient levels of the experimental diets were shown in Table 2.Fresh water and feed were available and ad libitum.The trial period was kept for 85 d.
