All growth parameters evaluated（leaf number，main stem length，leaf area and total dry weight）experienced a reduction due to saline stress，which is evidenced in the significant difference between both control treatments（S0 and S1）（Table 1） .Melatonin allowed to partially alleviate the detrimental effects of salinity and the best response was registered with 50μmol·L-1concentration in both application forms（Fig.3，E and I）.
