where t is the simulation time.Turning test is performed to verify the vessel’s heading stability and course changing characteristics.The vessel’s speed in the first place is maintained,then the vessel is steered to a maximum angle of 30?as quickly as possible,and the steering angle is kept until the heading angle is changed by 540?(the angle does not need to be modified even if there is a slight difference between the setting and actual angles).The standard parameters in turning test are shown in Fig.2,where DT,D,Ad,τandβare the first transfer,steady turning diameter,advance,turning period and drift angle,respectively.According to the available information of the twin-waterjet propulsion,the test can be divided into load state and no-load state(Table 1).Simulation results of turning test at different rotary speeds are shown in Fig.3.
