The bulbil of the Taipinghong was cultured for multiplication with the modified MS medium(calcium ion concentration doubled)+arrageenan 6g/L+succharose 30 g/L+NAA 0.2 mg/L+6-BA 2.0mg/L+GA3 0.5 mg/L+AC 100 mg/L.Specifically,the induced peony plantlet was divided into Plant 2and 3,and then inoculated in culture mediums for multiplication.Afterwards,dark treatment was applied to these plants for 7 d before light culture(Fig.2).According to Table 4,the multiplication rate of the 2nd generation was 32.4%;the 3rd generation was cultured using the same inoculation and division method based on the survived plants of the 2nd generation,which presented a higher multiplication rate at 44.4%.In contrast,the multiplication rate of the 4th generation decreased to 40.0%,mainly resulting from the gradual aging of the plant.Plants of the 5th and 6th generation were not able to reproduce as original forms and had even led to variation.
