The grass yield of forage sorghum sown at different dates was shown in Table 1.The results of variance analysis(Table 2)showed that among different sowing dates,the F values of plant fresh weight,plant dry weight and biological yield were259.213,257.522 and 2 959.174 respectively(P<0.01),indicating that different sowing time had an very important influence on the plant productivity and biological yield of forage sorghum in autumn idle land.Among different replications,the F values of plant fresh weight,plant dry weight and biological yield were1.932(Sig.=0.195>0.05),1.608(Sig.=0.248>0.05)and0.423(Sig.=0.666>0.05)respectively,indicating that the rigorous control of the relevant conditions reduced the error caused by the test field.The results of correlation analysis(Table 3)showed that the correlation coefficients between the sowing date and plant fresh weight,plant dry weight and biological yield of forage sorghum in autumn idle land were-0.983,-0.977 and-0.977respectively(P<0.01),suggesting that in autumn idle land,the plant productivity and biological yield of forage sorghum both decreased with the delay of sowing date and they both closely related to the sowing date.
