The rigid-wall hydraulic conductivity tests for all the backfills showed that the hydraulic conductivity(kf)decreased from 5.9×10-9 m/s to 9.7×10-11 m/s when attapulgite content in the backfill increased from 10%to 100%(Table 1).The kf was lower than10-9 m/s when attapulgite content in the backfill was not less than 30%,agreeing with the result obtained through calculation based on Terzaghi consolidation theory(Fig.5).
