《Effects of Nb on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 38MnB5 steel》
The steels that were studied included 38Mn B5 and38Mn B5Nb,and their corresponding chemical compositions are presented in Table 1.Also,the carbon equivalent(CEN)is presented in Table 1,which was calculated according to Eq.(1)[4].The materials in this study were of 1.8 mm in thickness.It can be observed from Fig.1 that the microstructures of the steels consisted of ferrite,granular bainite,and martensite(air cooled following hot rolling)in the as-received condition.The yield strength,ultimate strength,and elongation values are presented in Table 2.As shown in Fig.2,the engineering stress-strain curves of the investigated steels subsequent to hot rolling were also measured with the MTS810 tensile testing machine.
