The chemical composition of each phase in the60Te–40Bi alloy was analyzed using SEM-EDS.Fig.5(a)shows a secondary electron image of the 60Te–40Bi alloy.It is clear that there are two areas:namely,the primary phase area and the eutectic phase area.Fig.5(b)shows three EDS profiles taken from areas A,B,and C in Fig.5(a).The contents of Te and Bi are determined semi-quantitatively by SEM-EDS in areas A,B,and C and are listed in Table 1.The Te contents in areas A and B are consistent with the stoichiometry of Bi2Te3,which is47.8wt%.It is confirmed that area A is the primary Bi2Te3phase and area B is the eutectic Bi2Te3 phase in the eutectic structure.
