Static swell-up is nothing but the summation of elevation due to bow wave（ζB）and the sinkage due to speed（ζs），i.e.，hs=ζB+ζs.Thus to verify the validity of Eq.（9），analyses are performed to find the sinkage and wave elevation at bow for various vessels.Analyses are performed using the potential solver X-pan of the tool Shipflow?.Computed elevation due to bow wave，i.e.，wave profile along the hull is initially validated with experimental results（Hirata 2015）for the vessel JBC—Japan Bulk Carrier.Vessel particulars are given in Table 4.
