A schematic diagram of the vessel with the tank is shown in Fig.3.The main particulars of ship and tank are given in Tables 1 and 2.The fill height in the tank is taken as 1.08 m such that the slosh natural frequency of the tank in the first mode(ω1)is same as the roll natural frequency(ωo)of the ship(ω1=ωo=0.408 rad/s).Ship motions with or without partially filled tank are determined in regular beam waves for a given wave steepness(sw)with zero forward speed.The wave steepness is defined as sw=H/λ,where H is the wave height andλis the wave length.When sloshing is not considered,the fluid in the tank is assumed to be frozen,anàd theádraft(T)and vertical centre of gravity from the keel are taken constant at 10 m and 8.59 m respectively for both with or without partial filling conditions in tank.In other words,simulation for the non-sloshing case considers fluid to be present in the tank but is frozen.A viscous roll damping coefficientγ4=0.04 is used for all the cases of Series 60 vessel.
