The precipitation during May-August of 2013 was almost70%（67%）more than those in previous years（Table 2）.In the flowering and fruit-setting period of Hami melon（June），the precipitation was 2.6 times more than those in previous years，seriously affecting pollination and fruit-setting，so the fruit-setting percentage was 1/3 lower than those in previous years.The precipitation from May to August of 2013 was more compared with the mean of previous years.The precipitations in May，June，July and August of 2013 were 19 times，4 times，3 times and 1.5 times more compared with those of 2008，a precipitation-relatively abundant year.The accumulated precipitation during May and August of 2013 was three times more that of 2008.The more precipitation in May had little impact on the yield of Hami melon.In 2010，the precipitation in May was even more than that in 2013，but the precipitation in June，July and August was less，so the yield and quality of Hami melon were also both satisfactory.
