In order to develop an optimized pollen germination medium，the medium for the tomato by ABDUL-BAKI A A was used as a base medium[28].Concentration of the sucrose was modified to5%（No.1），10%（No.2）and 15%（No.3）（w/w） to study the effects of sucrose concentration o n p o l l e n g e r m i n a t i o n.T h e N o.4 c u l t u r e medium added 0.01%（w/w）GA3 on the basis of medium No.1.The germination rate of fresh pollen from the two male parents，S061 and S071，were evaluated at four stages（30，60，90 and 120 min）.The germination rate in different incubation media and times is shown in Table 1.The pollen germination percentages of S061 and S071 increased through the time lines in the four culture mediums.The maximum pollen germination rate was observed at 120 min for the two male parents.Then，the pollen germination rate significantly decreased in the culture mediums with10%and 15%source concentration，but there were insignificant differences between the two male parents.
