The sandy loam and microclimate in the survey area are suitable for the growth of Hami melon，but extreme climatic events often have a serious impact on the production.On August 16，2013，late-maturing Hami melon in Barry Bakai Town，Altay，Xinjiang came on the market one after another.In Altay City，the temperature is low，the precipitation is more，and the sunshine duration is short during the critical growth period of crops，so Hami melon shows stunted growth，serious pest and disease occurrence and poor quality，resulting in millions of economic losses to melon farmers.To this end，field survey was conducted several times to analyze the climate factors that affect the occurrence of pests and diseases in Hami melon in 2013，under the assistance of expert consultation，literature review[7-9]and data collection.The climate factors were leveled（Table 1）.
