Sediment samples were collected from sections 015，017，021，024，025，and YC02 in Yichang area（Fig.1b，Table 1）.Sections 015，017，021，and 024 are the EarlyMiddle Pleistocene alluvial fan，fan delta，and lacustrine sediments.Section 025 represents the riverbed deposits of the modern Yangtze River，whereas section YC02 is the fifth terrace of the Yangtze River（Table 1）.Descriptions of these sections are provided by Xiang et al.（2007）.Three types of igneous rocks were collected:Huangling granite，Panzhihua vanadium titanomagnetite，and Emeishan basalt（Table 1）.These samples were labeled060（from town of Sandouping，Habei Province），P1（from Panzhihua City，Sichuan Province），and E1（from Emei City，Sichuan Province），respectively.
