As illustrated in Fig.4,the process of topology discovery(TD)is launched by the local controller w hich is a softw are-defined node as w ell as a sink node.Then,local neighbor information is delivered to the central controller by the sink node.We take into account the neighbor information and next hop information tow ards the sink node of each sensor node[7].The neighbor information includes addresses,type and the residual energy of neighbor nodes,and the value of the received signal strength indicator(RSSI)of the received message.First,all the sink nodes w ill send a topology discovery packet using the maximum transmitting pow er w hen broadcasting simultaneously.The frame format of TD is defined,as show n in Fig.5,and the explanation of the fields is show n in Tab.1.The frame format of the neighbor information is defined,as show n in Fig.6,and the explanation of the fields is show n in Tab.2.Then the operations w hich handle the TD packet by the sensor node are expounded as follow s.
