It can be seen from Tables 4~7 that the imperfection has little effect on the structure,w ithin 6%,mainly because the structure is not sensitive to imperfections.The results of the nonlinear static analysis are significantly different from those of the linear static analysis.The differences betw een the nonlinear analysis and the force-controlled cases and displacement-controlled cases are about 50%and 80%respectively,and the differences reach more than tw o times for some components.Therefore,the static linear analysis may lead to uneconomical structural components.The loadings are amplified in codes to compensate for the shortcoming of linear static analysis,w hich cannot consider structural imperfections.The load amplification is relatively small in nonlinear static analysis,w hich is one of the main reasons for smaller results.The nonlinear static analysis is recommended for structural design,and the design results are more economical and safe.
