《Trait complementarity between fine roots of Stipa purpurea and their associated arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi along a precipitation gradient in Tibetan alpine steppe》
Notes:D:diameter;SRL:specific root length;RTD:root tissue density;Root C:root carbon;Root N:root nitrogen;HLD:hyphal length density;RLC:root length colonization percentage.*The data was derived from Zhang et al.(2016).
Both root morphological traits and chemical traits were significantly different among sampling sites(Table 1).There was over a twofold variation in the mean diameter and SRL across the decreasing precipitation gradient, ranging from0.29 to 0.64 mm and 39.63 to 19.26 m g-1respectively.For root chemical traits, root nitrogen(N)concentration in GG site was significantly lower than that in other four sampling sites.By contrast, root carbon(C)concentration was higher in GG site(Table 1).AM fungal hyphal length density(HLD)and root length colonization percentages(RLC)differed significantly among sites as HLD increased significantly with increasing precipitation(R2=0.44,P=0.001).However,RLC exhibited greater variation under different precipitation(Table 1).
