In order to validate the progressive failure method based on the Hashin failure criteria and 3D strain-based damage evolution laws in this study,numerical codes are developed using ABAQUS-UMAT to implement the implicit FEA algorithm.It is also compared with the experimental result(Liu et al.,2012c).T700 fiber/epoxy composite specimens with a 10 mm central hole are used in the test.The lay pattern and geometry size are[0°/45°/90°/-45°]2s and 250 mm×25 mm×1.8 mm,respectively.The thickness of each ply is 0.1125 mm.Material parameters for T700 fiber/epoxy composite layers are listed in Table 1.
