If we look at the use of English and Chinese dialects separately in Table 1,it seems that CCS is a diglossic situation,with English being the High variety and the Chinese dialects as the Low varieties1.English is more used in high-end contexts whereas the Chinese dialects are more spoken in low-end contexts.However,we cannot neglect that the percentage of people using English or Chinese dialects,if added up,only makes up twenty or fifty percents of the whole population(see Table 2).
