If we look at the use of English and Chinese dialects separately in Table 1，it seems that CCS is a diglossic situation，with English being the High variety and the Chinese dialects as the Low varieties1.English is more used in high-end contexts whereas the Chinese dialects are more spoken in low-end contexts.However，we cannot neglect that the percentage of people using English or Chinese dialects，if added up，only makes up twenty or fifty percents of the whole population（see Table 2）.
