As shown in Table 3,continuous cropping soil had a greater influence on the chlorophyll content of pepper. The chlorophyll content in the control group was significantly higher than those in the continuous cropping treatment groups. The contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and total chlorophylls in the continuous cropping treatment group were all significantly reduced compared with that in the control group. The decrease of chlorophyll content affected the photosynthesis of pepper under continuous cropping. This in turn affected the growth of the plant's shoots and roots, eventually leading to growth and development disorders of pepper.Compared with that in the control group, the contents of chlorophyll a in the A and B treatment groups were reduced by 33.5%and 31.0%,respectively.The content of total chlorophylls decreased significantly under continuous cropping conditions. The content of carotenoids in the continuous cropping treatment group was different from that of the control, but the difference was not significant.
