The footprint of biological resources and energy consumption owned by a region constitute its ecological footprint.The production of biological resources is made up agriculture，forestry，water and animal products，and specially includes oil，hemp，grain and poultry，a total of 20 kinds in this paper.The area of production of biological resources was calculated using the data from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on biological resources calculations.According to the data collected in the statistical yearbooks，the footprints of the four major energy sources such as coal and natural gas were also calculated.In the calculation process，the value of the equilibrium factors referred to the relevant research done by Wackernagel et al.[2]，and the value of the yield factors was based on the averages in China（Table 1）.According to the data in relevant statistical yearbooks and related socioeconomic data，the per capita ecological footprint and per capita ecological carrying capacity of the Qingshui River Basin over the years were calculated using the EF model.On this basis，the per capital ecological deficit/surplus was calculated（Fig.1）.
