《Effect of Dy doping on magnetostrictive and mechanical properties of Fe_(83)Ga_(17) alloy》
Figure 7(a)shows the magnetization hysteresis loops of Fe83Ga17Dyx(x=0,0.05,0.1,0.2,0.4)alloys at room temperature, and the inset is the Dy content dependence of saturation magnetization(Ms).Figure 7(b)is the amplified picture of Region A in Fig.7(a).Saturation magnetization, remanent magnetization(Mr)and coercivity(Hc)for all the alloys are summarized in Table 3.The saturation magnetization is remarkably increased by doping with Dy.The Ms of Fe83Ga17Dyx(x=0,0.05,0.1,0.2,0.4)alloys gradually increasesfrom 142 emu·g-1 for x=0 to a maximum 179 emu·g-1 for x=0.2,and then drops to 173 emu·g-1 for x=0.4,which is still higher than that of Fe83Ga17 alloy. The moment of Fe83Ga17Dyx alloys is largely dependent on the Fe atoms[27].The decrease in Ms with excessive addition of Dy is mainly attributed to the reduction of Fe-Fe interactions and the precipitation of Dy-rich phase.Another important feature is that the doping of Dy in Fe83Ga17alloy decreases Mr and Hc,which indicates that the soft magnetic properties of the alloy are improved. When x=0.2,the alloy has the optimal values of Ms(179 emu·g-1),Mr(0.42emu·g-1)and Hc(7.1 Oe).Overall, the magnetic properties of the Fe83Ga17 alloy are appreciably improved by doping with Dy,which is mainly owing to Dy atoms entering into the A2matrix and the precipitation of the Dy-rich phase.
