In order to test the numerical efficiency and the validity of the present SI method，we applied it to the identification of characteristics（thickness h，γunite weight，damping ratioξand shear wave velocity v S）of soil layer（Table 1）overlaying a rigid rock.In this case，the identification can be done with respect to the complex form or with respect to the moduli of the soil amplification function between free surface and bedrock.To apply this method，it must get an initial guess for the model parameters.These estimations as well as the identification results are given in Table 1.
