Miocene reservoirs are found throughout most of the Gulf of Suez Basin(Fig.4).Miocene reservoirs have produced oil from fields such as the Lagia 3,Kareem East 1,Belayim Land,Kareem,and Bakr.Miocene strata began depositing after the initiation of rifting in the gulf.They overlie pre-Miocene strata with a sharp unconformity.Miocene reservoirs consist of sandstone,marl,algal limestone,and conglomerates deposited in different settings such as sub-tidal,shallow marine and alluvial environments.The depositional facies are characterized as lagoonal,organic reef and fan delta.Miocene reservoirs are thick and of high quality,with relatively high porosity,permeability and oil saturation(El-Khadragy et al.,2016)(Table 1) .
