The construction cost of retractable roof projects is high，and the opening rate of the early retractable roof structure is also high，w hich leads to an increase in construction cost and the occupied land area.The opening rate is related to the w eight of movable roof and the drive system.A small opening area can effectively reduce the size and w eight of movable roof，low er the demand for driving force，mitigate the structural seismic response，alleviate the difficulty of design and construction，shorten the construction period，save cost，and facilitate later use and maintenance.Therefore，under the premise of satisfying the use function of buildings，the partial opening method is generally adopted for large-scale buildings，and a high opening rate can be adopted for small and medium-sized buildings in the design of retractable roof（Table 1）.
