The reasonable running speed of the movable roof is very important.If the running speed is too fast，the required pow er is immense，and the inertial force w ill increase，w hich w ill have a great impact on the track and related members.If the running speed is too slow，the opening and closing time w ill be too long，affecting the use effect.Therefore，the running speed of the movable roof should match the opening and closing stroke.According to the design experience，the running speed of the parallel movable roof is generally 2～10 m/min，and the linear speed at the distal end of rotary retractable roofs does not exceed 5 m/min.The acceleration w hen the movable roof starts and brakes is related to the traction and the w eight of movable roof.In order to reduce traction and impact，acceleration or deceleration can be controlled in sections.The absolute value of acceleration of the normal starting and stopping of the movable roof is in the range of 0.02～0.10 m/s2，generally about 0.05 m/s2.A high value can be used for small movable roofs，w hile a low value can be used for large movable roofs.The speed and acceleration of movable roofs recommended by the Japanese Retractable Roof Design Guide[61]are show n in Table 3.
