When we incubated INS-1 cells with high glucose,the level of the antioxidant enzymes,SOD,GSH-Px and CAT,was markedly reduced,but the lipid peroxidation marker,MDA,was increased.However,MLF at 250and 500 mg/L significantly increased the level of these antioxidant enzymes and decreased the level of MDA(P<0.05 or P<0.01)in a dose-dependent manner(Table 1).
