To understand the transcriptional regulation and putative functions of the GhKLCR1 gene,its promoter region was analyzed for putative cis-acting regulatory elements(Table1).The GhKLCR1 promoter region sequences were predicted to contain some stress-related binding elements,such as a CCAAT-box,MYB-binding site(MBS)and TC-rich repeats(Li et al.,2015).Furthermore,the analysis indicated that the promoter element contained one CCAAT-box,which is the MYBHv1-binding site,two MBSs,which are the droughtrelated,and three TC-rich regions,which are cis-acting elements for defense and stress responses(Dai et al.,2007).Thus,35S::GhKLCR1 contained some binding sites related to abiotic stresses,such as drought.Thus,these findings also indicate that GhKLCR1 may be involved in responding to drought and other abiotic stresses.
